He gave her a halfhearted scowl. "What?"
"It's just that you must be in good spirits." she replied stoically. "Otherwise you'd never have accepted her invitation."
Admiral Delas snorted and swept his arms out to the viewport and the ships resting in the shipyard beyond. "Of course I'm in a good mood. This is the breakthrough we've needed all this time. We have no experience building ships of this size. The Vengeance and her sister ships are the first vessels we've built approaching or exceeding something this heavy."
"We have our own battleships and cruisers." Kara pointed out, not truly understanding the Grand Admiral's comment.
"Nothing like the Eternity or Tyrant classes. They're both much heavier built than anything we've created before."

Sins of Empire: CH 3 PT 1Noah watched as the latest major engagement played out on the holographic display floating in the center of the council room. His eyes traced the movements of the fleet with avid interest as the outgunned Twin Suns forces positioned themselves to best effect against their enemies. One of his own ship designs had participated in the battle; the Trident-class. It was a revolutionary craft and one of the first ships he'd designed when he'd taken up his original post in the Ship Design Bureau, before being made a Grandee. It had the standard central hull of most fleet destroyers. Where it differed from other destroyers however was that it mounted three capital grade weapons instead of the standard one. In the central hull a cruiser rated ion cannon rested and there were two sponsons to either side of the central hull as well. Each held a cruiser rated rail cannon which could pummel enemy ships into submission. The heat requirements for the craft were troublesome for a vessel its size but tSins of Empire: CH 3 PT 1 by SlingBlade87
